The most common resume questions!!

Since the questions below are so popular, I knew it would be of interest to all of you. So I took the time to share the most common resume questions I’m asked, along with my thoughts, with all of you in mind.
I have so many accomplishments. How do I determine which ones to include on the resume? This is a fair question. Since the resume serves only as a synopsis of your accomplishments, you won’t be able to include everything you’ve ever done. However, it is important that you identify all your achievements and then take great care in determining which ones you will include. Below are a couple of thoughts that you will find useful when making a decision.

An exercise that hones in on your accomplishments is the PAR formula. PAR stands for problem, action, and result. Using the PAR formula will help you identify achievements you want to include on your resume. Take the time to reflect on your experiences and using the PAR formula, jot down every accomplishment you have for each job you’ve held. For example, are you a sales professional who increased profits? If so, how did you do it, and how much did profits increase? Alternatively, you may be a customer representative who has the ability to diffuse escalating issues with clients. Can you give an example that illustrates this talent, perhaps with a big-name client or an “impossible” problem you solved? Once you have written down all of your accomplishments, select the ones you are most proud of and prioritize them in order of importance to the position you are seeking.

Another way to determine which accomplishments should be included on a resume is by examining your performance reviews. Take note of the comments your manager made and the achievements he or she lasered in on. Chances are, if your current manager was impressed by a specific accomplishment, your next employer may also be impressed. So consider including the observations made by your current/previous manager. You can also include accomplishments in your cover letter as well. So if you find that you have a lot of accomplishments, you can make mention of some of them in the cover letter. However, keep in mind that your resume should contain the accomplishments you are most proud of, while the cover letter should contain supplemental accomplishments that may be of interest to the decision maker.

I’m not comfortable writing about myself. How can I overcome that? Many job seekers feel uncomfortable writing about themselves, so you are not alone. To overcome this uncomfortable situation, keep in mind that the employer is expecting you to toot your own horn. Remember that decision makers don’t know who you are, so it is up to you to provide them with a fair and accurate representation of what you bring to the table.
In addition, the resume isn’t written in the first person, so you will not be using the terms “I” or “me.” Instead, your resume will be full of action verbs such as operated, managed, or streamlined. Because you eliminate the use of personal pronouns, you can pretend you are writing about a friend or a family member. Disassociating yourself from the resume may allow you to be less bashful when writing about yourself.

How long should my resume be? The answer is: it depends. If you are a recent college graduate or have less than three years’ experience, a one-page resume is appropriate. On the other hand, if you are in middle management or have more than three years of experience, a two-page resume may be necessary. And if you are a “C-level” executive, the resume can be much longer.

The reality is that there isn’t a definitive answer to this question. The rule of thumb is this: after reading your resume, do you think to yourself, “Wow! I’d hire me in a minute!?" If the answer is yes, then length is inconsequential.

Signs Iraq is getting used to the bombings

*Owners of Target franchises make plans to open stores back up again.

*Instead of saying, “We are under attack, please take shelter,” citizens are now told, “Here we go again, you know the drill.”

*Everyone wears sunglasses all the time.

*Sarcastic giggling heard just behind live CNN reporters.

*Yesterday’s lead headline in most Iraqi newspapers was “NBA Lockout Continues.”

*Instead of running for cover at the sound of the air raid sirens, the Iraqis do the “Tomahawk Chop.”

*Hussein’s latest address to the nation included the line, “We must resist the Great Satan, yadda yadda yadda…”

*Christiane Amanpour is being invited to rooftop bomb watching parties all over Baghdad.

*Baghdad High’s senior class has playfully painted a bull’s-eye on the roof of the school.

*Iraqi Television Network preempts Hussein’s speech to show “Baywatch.”

*Maps of Baghdad being divided into numbered grids and sold on street corners to play “Cruise Missile Bingo.”

*Baghdad weather girls point to the map and say, “Scattered B-52 bombings and cruise missile strikes tonight through the early morning, with light rocket attacks tomorrow, clearing off by noon.”

*”We could be killed by a bomb any second” no longer an effective pickup line in Iraqi bars.

*Every Iraqi citizen has been issued a catcher’s mitt.

*Students anxiously listen to the radio each morning to listen for school closings.

*Even the ever-hilarious, “Sorry, that was me–must’ve been those BEANS I ate!” jokes are wearing thin.

*Gag gift sales soar with the release of the new “Magnetic Hat.”

What the hell is a "F.M." road?

Driving to the sea, we spent a lot of time on FM roads, e.g. "F.M. 2292." where ever I'have been so far I have seen "I" roads (Interstate) and "SR" roads (State Route) and even "FS" roads out in the wilderness (Forest Service),, but an "F.M." road was new to us. At first I guessed the "F" stood for "Federal," but couldn't come up with an "M". Finally, noting that these roads traveled through the back-country, I decided that "F.M." was simply an abbreviation for "Farm" -- but the presence of a period between the F and M gave me a sneaking suspicion that I could be wrong. I decided to ask some one local ( a friend of mine ) answer from the friend - sorry dont know.

So, I looked it up. And the answer is ... FM = Farm to Market road. "The system of Texas Farm-to-Market Roads was created to provide access to the rural areas of the state ... The name is derived from the intended use of the roads: farmers bringing their goods to market in the cities."

What Goes Around lyrics by Justin Timberlake.

Hey girl, is he everything you wanted in a man
You know I gave you the world
You had me in the palm of your hand

So why your love went away
I just can't seem to understandThought it was me and you babe
Me and you until the end
But I guess I was wrong

Don't want to think about it
Don't want to talk about it
I'm just so sick about it
Can't believe it's ending this way

Just so confused about it
Feeling the blues about it
I just can't do without ya
Tell me is this fair?

Is this the way it's really going down?
Is this how we say goodbye?
Should've known better when you came around
That you were gonna make me cry
It's breaking my heart to watch you run around
'Cause I know that you're living a lie
That's okay baby 'cause in time you will find...

What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around

Now girl, I remember everything that you claimed
You said that you were moving on now
And maybe I should do the same
Funny thing about that is
I was ready to give you my name
Thought it was me and you, babe
And now, it's all just a shame
And I guess I was wrong

Don't want to think about it
Don't want to talk about it
I'm just so sick about it
Can't believe it's ending this way
Just so confused about it
Feeling the blues about it
I just can't do without ya
Can you tell me is this fair?

Is this the way things are going down?
Is this how we say goodbye?
Should've known better when you came around
(should've known better that you were gonna make me cry)
That you were going to make me cry
Now it's breaking my heart to watch you run around
'Cause I know that you're living a lie
That's okay baby 'cause in time you will find

What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around

What goes around comes aroundYeah
What goes around comes around
You should know that
What goes around comes aroundYeah
What goes around comes around
You should know that

Don't want to think about it (no)
Don't want to talk about it
I'm just so sick about it
Can't believe it's ending this way
Just so confused about it
Feeling the blues about it (yeah)
I just can't do without ya
Tell me is this fair?

Is this the way things are going down?
Is this how we say goodbye?
Should've known better when you came around
(should've known better that you were gonna make me cry)
That you were going to make me cry
Now it's breaking my heart to watch you run around
'Cause I know that you're living a lie
But that's okay baby 'cause in time you will find

What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around
What goes around, goes around, goes around
Comes all the way back around
Let me paint this picture for you, baby
You spend your nights alone
And he never comes home
And every time you call him
All you get's a busy tone
I heard you found out
That he's doing to you
What you did to meAin't that the way it goes
You cheated girl
My heart bleeds girl
So it goes without saying that you left me feeling hurt
Just a classic case
A scenarioTale as old as time
Girl you got what you deserved
And now you want somebody
To cure the lonely nights
You wish you had somebody
That could come and make it right

But girl I ain't somebody with a lot of sympathyYou'll see
(What goes around comes back around)
I thought I told ya, hey
(What goes around comes back around)
I thought I told ya, hey
(What goes around comes back around)
I thought I told ya, hey
(What goes around comes back around)
I thought I told ya, hey
See?
You should've listened to me, baby
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Because
(What goes around comes back around)

The Armor of God

Ephesians 6:10-20

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,
20for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Lakewood Chruch - Texas

Lakewood Chruch

Church Attendance* City, State Pastor
Lakewood Church 25,060 Houston, Tex. Joel Osteen

Recently I visited Lakewood. It had been my dream to go to that Church for a few years now. Thank God that this dream came true. I was (How was I ) I am trying to explain how I felt, I was really happy and excited as I got up that morning and was getting ready to go to Church . On the way to Church I was smiling ear to ear (Picture that using Joel's smile). I was awe struck the moment I saw Lakewood Church logo. I can't explain in words how I felt. I was confused and seemed lost for a few seconds trying to figure out which way to go and where to sit, so we can get a good seat. Well when God had taken me there , I shouldn’t have worried but I did (completely Human ). One of the ushers asked me if I was a visitor and asked me to follow her. She takes me and introduces me to another Usher who can seat me. He took me all the way to the front and seats me in the 2nd row.

Secondddddddddddddddddd row ...behind the Pastor and Dr. Paul Osteen. What an Honor!!! I was thinking and planning on getting a Good seat as you know it’s a huge church. But God put me in the 2nd row. Now does that ring a bell in your mind?

If not ...1. Trust God 2.If he starts something with you he will finish it .3.He won’t leave you confused or worried if he has taken you somewhere new. 4. Jehovah Jireh My Provider ...the list goes on and on...

It was an amazing service. Even though I wanted to see Joel. Joel didn’t show up ( I knew that before I went to that service ) But God Showed up. Praise God...That’s all I needed.

Check out some of the pictures I have taken while I was there.

I hope to visit again soon when Joel is preaching.
