What Do You Look At?

Today's Scripture
"The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

When you accept Christ, He begins to work in you and through you automatically. He creates you to be a completely new person. No one else around you may notice the change, at least immediately, because man usually only sees the outside of a person, what can be seen and heard. And sometimes, you may not even see or feel the change. But the fact is that God changed you when you became a Christian, and He is still changing you because you belong to Him and you have His power and strength to be a new person! God changes people where it matters—on the inside. Don't be discouraged if others around you don't seem to notice a difference. Don't ever forget that a life-changing transformation has taken place in your heart.

Hold on to Hope

Today's Scripture
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." (John 10:10)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Satan wants you to give up and quit so he can have the victory in your life. But you can overcome him through the almighty power of God! Christ performed many miracles in the Bible, and He is still doing miracles today. The Bible says He is the same yesterday, today and forever. No matter what weapon the enemy may throw at you, it cannot penetrate the defense that Christ has put around you! Guard your hope, your joy, and your victory in Christ, because they are God-given blessings that He wants you to enjoy every day.

A Prayer for Today
God, do not allow the enemy to overcome me, but help me to guard my joy, my hope, and my victory in Christ, which are wonderful gifts from You! In Jesus' Name. Amen.

He Has Mercy

Today's Scripture
"Two blind men were sitting beside the road, and when they heard that Jesus was coming that way, they began shouting, "Sir, King David's Son, have mercy on us!"(Matthew 20:30)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Few people paid attention to those blind men sitting by the side of the road that day when Jesus passed by. No one gave them much of a chance—but Jesus did! Christ has such great compassion and mercy and it's important to remember He still has it today. Too many times people see obstacles, not destinations, and that keeps them from taking a chance and believing in this great mercy of God. When you have the faith and obedience to step out and trust Him, like those blind men did, then you open yourself up for His love and compassion. He rewards those who trust in Him. When you step out in faith, He will open doors for you and make your path straight.

A Prayer for Today
God, thank You for Your great mercy and grace. With Your help, I want to step out and act on my faith, so that I may see Your great works! In Jesus' Name. Amen.

“And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments. . .” Luke 16:23

By Terry Watkins
What you're about to read is hard to believe. . .We're going to examine the place the Bible calls hell. We'll present documented evidence for a place called hell. Don't take what you're going to read lightly. If what you read is true — YOU COULD BE IN SERIOUS DANGER! Several years ago a book was published, entitled Beyond Death's Door by Dr. Maurice Rawlings. Dr. Rawlings, a specialist in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, resuscitated many people who had been clinically dead. Dr. Rawlings, a devout atheist, "considered all religion "hocus-pocus" and death nothing more than a painless extinction". But something happened in 1977 that brought a dramatic change in the life of Dr. Rawlings! He was resuscitating a man, terrified and screaming — descending down into the flames of hell:
"Each time he regained heartbeat and respiration, the patient screamed, "I am in hell!" He was terrified and pleaded with me to help him. I was scared to death. . . Then I noticed a genuinely alarmed look on his face. He had a terrified look worse than the expression seen in death! This patient had a grotesque grimace expressing sheer horror! His pupils were dilated, and he was perspiring and trembling — he looked as if his hair was "on end."Then still another strange thing happened. He said,"Don't you understand? I am in hell. . . Don't let me go back to hell!" . . .the man was serious, and it finally occurred to me that he was indeed in trouble. He was in a panic like I had never seen before."(Maurice Rawlings, Beyond Death's Door,(Thomas Nelson Inc., 1979) p. 3).Dr. Rawlings said, no one, who could have heard his screams and saw the look of terror on his face could doubt for a single minute that he was actually in a place called hell! The Bible continually warns of a place called hell. There are over 162 references in the New Testament alone which warns of hell. And over 70 of these references were uttered by the Lord Jesus Christ! In Luke 16, Jesus Christ gives a frightening picture of hell:

Keep Going

Today's Scripture

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."(Isaiah 40:31)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Christ doesn't want you to settle for mediocrity in any area of your life! His plan is for you to be victorious and filled with joy each day. No matter what has happened to you in the past, God wants you to pick yourself up and keep going on the path that leads to victory. The Bible says that if you will look to God, He will renew your strength and help you soar like an eagle. That's an amazing promise from an amazing God! Keep pushing ahead even through the tough times, and you'll be blessed.

A Prayer for Today
God, thank You for Your promise of strength and endurance when I wait on You. Do not allow me to get stuck in a rut or give up on my journey with You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Friends

Today's Scripture

"Friendly suggestions are as pleasant as perfume." (Proverbs 27:9)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Friends help make this life a little better each day. You can probably think of multiple instances where a good friend changed the day for you and made you look on the brighter side. That's exactly what God intended friendship to be. True friends know you well; they give you wise advice from the Word of God. No ministry would ever get off the ground without support from friends in the faith, and this ministry is certainly no exception. The wonderful things God has done through this outreach are a direct result of the commitment that friends like you have made to stand with us in reaching out to millions of people around the world. Everyone needs a faithful friend — so why not make a commitment today to be a friend to someone who needs you.

Recovering What Has Been Lost

Today's Scripture
"I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten." (Joel 2:25)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
You can break free of the hurt, the pain, and the mistakes of the past, and recover the years, the joy and the blessings that have been stolen from you. God wants to restore these things to you — not just the way they were before — but twice as much so that you are far better off than when you began. No matter where you are today, or what happened to you yesterday, God wants to give you a new future filled with joy, fulfillment and abundance, a forgotten past and a fresh future! No matter where you are today, or what happened to you yesterday, God wants to give you a new start and a future that is better than anything you could ask for or even imagine.
A Prayer for Today
God, give me the strength to break free from anything in my past that is holding me back. Thank you for being the God of new beginnings. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Dream On

Today's Scripture:
"May there be shouts of joy when we hear the news of your victory, flags flying with praise to God for all that he has done for you. May he answer all your prayers!" (Psalm 20:5)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

You have a great dream and a vision for your life. Everyone does; that's what keeps people motivated during the tough times. The problem isn't that people don't have dreams—it's that they don't do their part to fulfill those dreams and allow them to come to pass. God wants you to pursue and fulfill your dreams, and not to let everyday life stand in the way. Of course, there are many daily routines to be done, but don't let these things stop you from striving towards the goals God has put in your heart. He doesn't want you to stop until you have discovered all that He has in store for you!

When is it enough ?? really !!!

An American businessman was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with justone fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellow fin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them. TheMexican replied only a little while.

The American then asked why didn't he stay out longer and catchmore fish? The Mexican said he had enough to supporthis family's immediate needs. The American then asked, but what do you do with therest of your time?

The Mexican fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish alittle, play with my children, take siesta with mywife Maria, stroll into the village each eveningwhere I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos. Ihave a full and busy life, senor."

The American scoffed, "I am a Wharton MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat. With the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats. Eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise."

The Mexican fisherman asked, "But senor, how long will this all take?"

To which the American replied, "15-20 years.""But what then, senor?"The American laughed and said, That's the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich, you would make millions."

"Millions, senor? Then what?"

The American said, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos."

Think I may just go home now!!!

Murder Miracle in Egypt

A Muslim man in Egypt killed his wife and then buried her with theirinfant baby and 8-year old daughter. The girls were buried alive! He then reported to the police that an uncle killed the kids. 15 dayslater, another family member died. When they went to bury him, theyfound the 2 little girls under the sand - ALIVE !

she said. She was interviewed on Egyptian national TV, by a veiled Muslim womannews anchor. She said on public TV, "This was none other than Jesus, because nobody else does things like this!"Muslims believe Isa (Jesus) would do this, but the wounds mean Hereally was crucified, and it's clear also that He is alive! But, it'salso clear that the child could not make up a story like this, andthere is no way these children could have survived without a truemiracle.
Muslim leaders are going to have a hard time to figure outwhat to do with this, and the popularity of the Passion movie doesn'thelp! With Egypt at the centre of the media and education in the MiddleEast , you can be sure this story will spread.Christ is still turning the world upside down! Please let this story be shared.
